Well done Sam, all look properly exposed and this should have been reflected in the histogram. Looks like you were having fun with the cooking.

Thanks Bridget! Sorry, don't know why this posted twice!

I did get the idea of the histograms, so glad that they are exposed OK. We had great fun with the cooking, it was the first time that I'd let Emily help. We had a whale of a time!!!

Hope you parents are ok. See you Wednesday.

Hi Bridget,

Here are a few different photos/histograms with a bit of a festive theme ...

Indoor Sparkler
I had a play around in Manual mode for this one because I found I was letting too much light in using bulb mode on the fireworks setting we used.

The histogram shows the dark areas skewed to the left hand side without being clipped and a relatively even distribution through the tones to the highlighted area in the centre of the sparkler shown on the right hand side (possibly clipped).

Mince Pies
The histogram shows a distribution from small areas that are relatively dark (mincemeat) through more increasingly light areas and a high peak to the right hand side which I guess is the background.

ISO 400 f/22 1/20

Pointsettia
The histogram shows all tones in the image to be darker than 18% grey - small dark areas of the shadows through increasing lighter shades of red.

Sam, the pictures look great I'm glad the lanterns made it through the weekend!

Nice looking histograms on the first 2 Sam, if you try the pointsettia again try uping the exposure as it looks a little dark.
