Here are some before and after Picasa editing shots of some my favourite photos taken over the last couple of months ...
LADYBIRDI stumbled across this ladybird on a holly bush at Stowe Gardens whilst seeking out opportunities to shoot some specular highlights for last week's homework.
In Picasa I have increased the saturation to make the colours more vibrant, increased the shadows and retouched to remove the white mark and dimple from the leaf and a light reflection from the body of the ladybird.
Iso 400 f/5.6 1/50ZEBRAA shot of a zebra at ZSL Whipsnade last month.
In Picasa I used the fill light to brighten the image then increased both the shadows and highlights to give more contrast. Finally I converted the image to black and white and cropped out some of the background to focus on the zebra.
Iso 400 f/5.6 1/500TAXI ...This New York taxi photo was taken a couple of weeks before the start of the Shutterbug course so was taken in Shutter Priority mode rather than manual ... it is one of my favourite shots from holiday.
In Picasa I increased the saturation to lift the colours and again increased the shadows and highlights to increase contrast. I finally cropped the image to frame from the traffic lights to the taxi.
